LLM
An LLM, or large language model, is an AI model trained on vast amounts of text to understand and generate language.
LLM stands for large language model, an AI model trained on vast amounts of text to understand and generate natural language. It produces responses by predicting tokens, the units of text it processes, one after another. LLMs have far more parameters and training data than earlier language models, and most are based on the Transformer architecture proposed in 2017.
Well-known examples include GPT, Claude and Gemini, and LLMs are used for chatbots, translation, summarization and code generation. Because training data has been predominantly English, performance varies across languages, and some LLMs can run locally on a personal computer.
