diff
A diff shows what was added, removed or changed between two versions of code or text.
A diff is the result of comparing two versions of code or text to show their changes. The name comes from the diff command-line utility included in Unix in the 1970s. In version control systems such as Git and in code review, diffs highlight added and removed lines, often with surrounding context; a diff packaged so that it can be applied to another file is called a patch.
