OpenGL
OpenGL is a cross-platform API specification for rendering 2D and 3D graphics.
OpenGL is a graphics API specification introduced by Silicon Graphics in 1992. It lets programs draw 2D and 3D graphics in the same way across operating systems and graphics hardware, and it has been maintained by the Khronos Group since 2006.
It is used in games, CAD tools and scientific visualization software to render graphics on the GPU. Graphics drivers provide the actual implementation, while window creation and input handling are often left to separate libraries such as GLUT, GLFW or SDL.
