WebSocket
WebSocket is a communication protocol that lets a browser or app and a server exchange data in both directions over one persistent connection.
WebSocket is a communication protocol that starts by upgrading an HTTP connection and then lets the client and server send data to each other at the same time over a single connection. The IETF standardized it in 2011 as RFC 6455.
Because it does not open a new connection for every request, it keeps latency low and is used in services that exchange data frequently, such as chat, live notifications and online games.
