BT.709
BT.709 is the ITU-R standard that defines the color space and signal format for HD television video.
BT.709 is ITU-R Recommendation BT.709 from the International Telecommunication Union's Radiocommunication Sector. It sets video signal parameters for high-definition television, including resolution, aspect ratio, color primaries and transfer characteristics. It was first adopted in 1990.
Most HD and web video today uses this color space by default, and tagging a video file with BT.709 color information helps playback devices display colors as intended. BT.2020 is the separate standard for ultra-high-definition video with a wider color gamut.
