WCAG, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, is a web accessibility standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium, or W3C. It sets success criteria that help make web content perceivable, operable and understandable for people with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities.

Versions 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 were released in that order, and each criterion belongs to one of three conformance levels: A, AA and AAA. Accessibility audits of websites and apps commonly target level AA.
