Trusted Execution Environments, or TEEs, are security environments that use hardware to isolate running code and data from other parts of a system. They are used in cloud computing, among other settings, to protect data while it is being processed.

Unlike isolation based solely on software, a TEE relies on a hardware-enforced boundary. Depending on the implementation, it may support memory encryption or remote attestation.
