Stable Diffusion is a family of text-to-image generation models that the British AI company Stability AI released in 2022 with academic collaborators. The diffusion models generate images from text descriptions, and their weights are publicly available, so they can run on personal computers. Later models include SDXL (Stable Diffusion XL), released in 2023, and SDXL-Turbo, which is based on SDXL and generates images in one to four steps.
