monorepo

A monorepo is a single version control repository that holds the code for many projects, libraries and services.

The term combines mono, meaning single, with repository. A monorepo keeps the code of separate applications, libraries and services together in one repository, in contrast to a polyrepo setup in which each project has its own repository.

A monorepo makes it easier to change several projects at once and to share code and tooling, but as it grows it puts a heavy load on version control systems and build tools. It is therefore often paired with build systems such as Bazel that build and test only what has changed, and with features that fetch only part of the repository.
