Minecraft is a video game created by Markus Persson and developed by Mojang Studios of Sweden. It was first made public in 2009 and fully released in 2011. Players mine resources, craft items and build structures in a world made of blocks. Microsoft acquired Mojang in 2014.

The game runs on PCs, consoles and mobile devices and is regarded as the best-selling video game of all time. In AI research it is also used as an environment for testing how agents explore and plan.
